Experts recommend adults get a minimum of seven hours of sleep. Hawaii residents reported getting the least sleep — 45.6% of adults sleep less than seven hours. Sure, they were talking about the city, but over a third of adults in New York state report getting fewer than seven hours of sleep a night — and they're not alone. Ideally, people over the age of 18 should sleep between seven and nine hours a night to help prevent health issues like cancer, heart attacks, and depression.
